Rossette and JP met in 2012 at San Francisco State University. They both joined a club called Friendship Games, which took them on a group trip to Southern California. They had a few flirty exchanges throughout the weekend, but it was on the car ride home where JP strategically sat next to Rossette. The six hour drive flew by as they got to know each other. JP admits that he made the first move, but Rossette was the one to catch feelings first. The following years would include countless foodie adventures, a handful of rave events, and traveling to their favorite destinations.
JP was holding onto the engagement ring for a few months waiting for the right opportunity. He planned to do it once or twice, but the timing didn’t feel right. They decided to go on a quick getaway to Lake Tahoe to get some fresh air and relax. He knew for a fact that Rossette hated nature and wasn't the biggest fan of hiking, but he kept insisting on wanting to visit Emerald Bay. He only got three hours of sleep the night before because he was so nervous. That morning, they got to the trail shortly after sunrise and walked around enjoying the views. They spotted a beautiful photo opportunity that overlooked the lake and mountain backdrop. He knew this was it, this was the moment. As they prepared to take the photo, JP took out the ring, got down on one knee, and asked Rossette to marry him. Her jaw dropped and she was speechless. Tears ran down her face and as she finally caught her breath, she said yes!
