Chicago is well-known enough that you certainly don't need us to help you plan your weekend. However, here are some of our favorite spots in town that you won't find on Trip Advisor :)

A classic Chicago institution we visited frequently as kids.

Harold's Chicken #14 Hyde Park

Great sushi, fun ambiance. We always make time for Sushi Dokku when Sydney is in town.

SUSHI DOKKU Japanese Restaurant

First date spot. Best burger in the city. Don't @ us, Au Cheval fans.

Fatso's Last Stand

When we started dating during the pandemic, one of our favorite takeout spots was Flour Power. Jacob, of course, made friends with the owner, who changes his menu weekly. Stop by for delicious, homemade pasta.

Flour Power

Our go to spot for Chinese. Great opportunity to tour Chicago's Chinatown, which according to some insiders, is the only growing Chinatown neighborhood in the country.

MingHin Cuisine

Really vibrant near-southside neighborhood. Excellent taco joints along 18th street.

Pilsen

Take a stroll through this cutesy northside neighborhood. Jacob used to get his haircut here, so we'd often take the afternoon, grab a coffee, and peruse the shops.

Andersonville

Neither one of us is a huge fan of city tours but this Chicago tour is actually exceptional.

Chicago Architecture Boat Tour

We have spent our fair share of time on this bike/running path, both together and separately. Whether you run, bike (use a Chicago Divvy bike!), or swim, early September is a perfect time to go to the lakefront.
