Steven and Richard met on Bumble and instantly hit it off. They decided to get dinner and drinks at one of their favorite wine bars, The Twisted Vine. Richard almost canceled at the last minute, however, he did not and they ended up having an 8-hour first date and the rest is history!

Richard gave Steven an outline of how he wanted the proposal and the timing of it to happen. Steven is an avid listener so he started to plan. He enlisted the help of Vanessa to get Richard out of the house. It was planned that Richard would go get massages with Vanessa while Steven prepped the apartment for the proposal. Steven lit candles and got the dogs ready. Steven's friend Hanna also dropped off flowers because Steven did not have time to get some after work! Richard always wanted to have the proposal be private and intimate and then go celebrate with friends and family. Richard, however, did not get the hint to leave Vanessa's house so he was running late. Thankfully, Steven is adaptable and improvised! Richard finally got to their apartment, where Steven was waiting on one knee. Richard was VERY confused and had all of his items in his hand. He quickly said, "I'll be right back" and dropped his stuff down. Richard said "YES!" and Steven told him he had about 20 minutes to get ready because he was late - much to Richard's dismay. They got ready and had a FABULOUS time at their engagement party planned by their mother's and Michelle.
