Alex and Regan were both at the 2017 Patriotic Festival — as strangers! Both in the USO chalet, Alex saw Regan and felt compelled to introduce himself. They met for coffee the next day, where meeting for “quick coffee” turned into a three hour first date. The rest is history!

An ordinary, routine Monday turned into an amazingly memorable day! Overcast & threatening rain, Alex & Regan set out for their nightly walk on the beach. The oceanfront at 88th Street was deserted, except for these two. After talking about one another’s day at work & the chit-chat concluded, Alex changed the topic of conversation to the future. He caught Regan in total surprise as he dropped to one knee. Through tears & laughter, Regan was thrilled to say Yes!

Regan and Alex traveled to Homosassa, Florida to be married by Regan’s maternal grandfather. Robert D. Waldo Roberts served as an Army Chaplain — his religious and military backgrounds made him a perfect fit to officiate the vows. The vows were held privately on the dock at the Roberts’ property: Grandpa Roberts officiated & Grandma Roberts was witness.
