Dylan and Madi first crossed paths when they were just 16. They met through mutual friends, even though their high schools were about 30 minutes apart. Dylan’s hockey teammate was dating one of Madi’s best friends at the time. After they met, they occasionally bumped into each other at high school parties or hockey games. The two stayed connected on social media as Madi left for college at Auburn University and Dylan went to play junior hockey in Alberta, Canada. In the spring of 2018, Dylan decided to make a move via Twitter direct message. By that summer, they were fully reconnecting. Dylan was 21 at the time, Madi was 20, and together they found every excuse to hang out: camping trips, Rockies games, and even “underage bars,” courtesy of Madi. That fall, Dylan started college at Aurora University to continue his hockey career, and they parted ways, daunted by the thought of long distance. But it didn’t last long. Countless FaceTime calls led to a winter break reunion that confirmed their feelings. On January 16, 2019, Dylan officially asked Madi to be his girlfriend. The next three years were a long-distance adventure. Dylan often traveled to Auburn, where they enjoyed football in Jordan-Hare Stadium and trips to Lake Martin together. When Madi visited Illinois, she cheered Dylan on at his hockey games and navigated the chaos of his house, which was home to seven guys who had never met a vacuum and had only one functioning shower. Summer and winter breaks were spent back home in Colorado, making up for months apart. Madi graduated and moved back to Denver in May of 2020, followed by Dylan's graduation in May of 2022. Finally, the two were reunited permanently and began building their life together. They moved into their first apartment in the Washington Park neighborhood on February 10, 2023, and have lived together in the same area ever since. After six and a half years of concerts, vacations, and countless shared memories, Dylan proposed to Madi on August 23, 2025, in the gardens at Wash Park - their favorite weekend spot. They’re now thrilled to celebrate their love with friends and family exactly one year later, on August 23, 2026!
