We first laid eyes on each other in front of the Raptor at Cedar Point in May 2014! Lana was invited by her Maid of Honor Alissa and Randy was invited by Tom and Best Man, Tony. Lana had met Tony one time before, and would not sit next to anyone but him all day. It's okay, Randy didn't have googly eyes yet, either. A month later, they went with friends to Mackinac Island for a weekend. That was it! They returned home, Randy got Lana's number, asked her out, and almost 2 months later she finally went out with him (it took a few tries to get her to do it). After she fell for him a week later, she's been waiting to be a Delling ever since.

On Friday, April 28, 2017, Randy and I went to work with no definite plans for the night. All month long, we had planned to treat ourselves to a nice dinner at Andiamo in Detroit because April was "Lobster Amore," so I didn't expect anything about making reservations. I had a long, all-day training at an offsite office and was extremely drained afterwards. Randy told me during lunch that we'll figure out dinner later because he was invited to go golfing after work with a few coworkers. I wasn't happy about waiting till late to eat (a little hangry). Randy called on his way home and even suggested waiting till tomorrow for date night! Clearly, I denied that offer. Little did I know, he left work in Dearborn to drive to my father's house in Ortonville (FOREVER in traffic) to ask for his blessing! At dinner, which was around 9pm, Randy was acting funny now that I look back, but I didn't think anything at the time. We had a great dinner looking at Detroit's waterfront, so afterwards we decided to take a walk along the river. When we got there, Randy asked a stranger to take a photo! We posed for a normal photo and then Randy turned and got down on one knee! I yelled out, "Are you kidding me?!" and started crying my eyes out! After he put the ring on and we were hugging, I told him, "I haven't even looked at the ring!" It was my DREAM ring! Right after we called our parents and just taking in the moment and scenery. We went straight to my mom's house (at midnight now) to celebrate! it was the best day of my life!
