The Anand Karaj is the actual marriage portion of the wedding. Translating to "Blissful Union" the Anand Karaj is performed in the presence of the Guru Granth Sahib, with the pivotal act being the 4 pheres (rounds), known as the 4 Laavan. Where each Lavan represents a unique pillar of marriage. The first Lavan sets the groundwork for the wedding and the next three Lavaan represent spirituality, divine love, and peace.
