Kyle & Victoria met in 2018 through a group of friends stranded on Dog Island, outside Carrabelle Florida. New to Tallahassee, Victoria was invited to a boat day with a group of friends for time away from FL's Legislative Session. As the boat ventured out, it broke down in the middle of the bay & was towed to Dog Island. The group was left there until the end of the day, becoming good friends, as any group stranded on an island would. Kyle & Victoria's friendship grew that session as they also worked together on policy & budget issues. Once session ended, Kyle returned to the St Pete area & Victoria remained in Tallahassee. Months later, Kyle returned to Tallahassee for work. Victoria & Kyle re-connected at a party with their Dog Island friends. The 2019 session, they found themselves hanging out more often with friends after work & weekend events. Realizing there was a connection between them, Victoria set expectations: she was not looking for a boyfriend, didn't want to get involved with anyone in politics, & was happy with her independence. Kyle saw through Victoria's stubbornness & simply asked her to dinner. The two went to dinner at one of their favorite Italian places in Tallahassee. To seal the deal & reel in his catch, Kyle organized a surprise birthday party with Victoria's friends. Completely surprised & overwhelmed with joy, Victoria knew there was something special about Kyle. Labor Day weekend 2019, Victoria & Kyle went to the Grand Canyon for a spur-of-the-moment vacation... the trip to make or break it. They continued dating long-distance for a year and a half until fall 2020. By that December, the two knew they were the ones for each other. Completely convinced buying a boat was their next step, Victoria was utterly surprised when Kyle got down on one knee in Tallahassee’s Chain of Parks & popped the question days before the 2021 new year. Victoria & Kyle couldn't be more excited to begin their life together & get a boat of their own very soon.
