Flight

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)

Houston has two main airports: Bush (IAH) and Hobby (HOU). We recommend flying to IAH, but either would work. Don't feel rushed to buy tickets if they seem expensive to you, but regularly check prices. Sometimes flights dip in price 2-3 months months before the date. However, with fuel costs and post-pandemic travel demand, who knows. We tried to pick a low demand weekend so fingers crossed you can find some good deals! Drive from IAH to hotels: 25 minutes. Drive from HOU to hotels: 45 minutes.

Rental Car

Ubers or Rental Car?

If you're thinking of getting around via public transportation, you've come to the wrong city! Hopefully you can coordinate with other guests to share the cost of car rentals or Ubers! If you plan to rent a car for the weekend, you'll want to reserve one as soon as possible. We recommend searching on "carrentals.com" and booking a rental car with "free cancellation." If you haven't already purchased your flight, estimate your arrival and departure, and you can always cancel or modify later. Car rentals usually get more expensive the longer you wait. By reserving a car with free cancellation now, you can always cancel in case you find a better deal later.

Hotel

Hyatt Place Houston NW Vintage Park

This is our recommended hotel for the weekend. It offers free breakfast, Wi-Fi, and parking. It is close to many of our favorite restaurants, walking distance to a "HEB" grocery store, and next to an 80-acre nature preserve. Unfortunately, 2 queen bed rooms are no longer available at our discounted wedding rate. You can still book a king room with sofa-sleeper for $89 per night, but that price is only available if you book Friday to Monday (3 nights). If you are interested in only staying 2 nights, you can cancel the 3rd night upon check in on Friday. Each reservation has 48 hour cancellation, so this is the only way to get our wedding rate for 2 nights. Our group code number is 85917. Travel Note

Wedding Reception Shuttle from Hyatt Place Hotel

Shuttle service will be provided between the Hyatt Place hotel and the reception hall (Lam Bo Ballroom). The shuttle will only make one return trip to the hotel when the reception concludes at 12:00, midnight. The reception hall and hotel are about 35 minutes away from each other, so an Uber may be expensive, especially with increased demand on a Saturday night. SpringHill Suites by Marriott Houston Northwest

Newer Marriott hotel with large rooms and good reviews. Good alternative to the Hyatt Place if you prefer Marriott branded hotels. We did not do a room block due here due to the higher prices (approx. $120 per night). Walking distance to the Hyatt Place (0.3 miles) if you want to RSVP for the reception shuttle.

Element Houston Vintage Park

Modern hotel offering large rooms with kitchenettes. We did not get a room block here because reviews were really hit and miss, but typically Elements are nice Westin-branded hotels. Walking distance to the Hyatt Place (0.4 miles) if you'd like to stay here and still RSVP for the reception shuttle.
