Can we bring our kids?

Unfortunately as our venue is not suitable for little ones, this will be an adults-only wedding. We hope this will allow you a much-deserved night off to celebrate with us!

Please RSVP and select your meal before July 23rd, 2023.

What is the dress code?

Answer

Black Tie Optional or Semi-Formal. The wedding is formal, so we encourage you to wear black tie attire. Evening gowns, semi formal dresses and tuxedos or suits are appropriate. No Jeans.

Do I have to travel from the ceremony to the reception?

Answer

No, the ceremony and reception are both at Wakonda. There will be late night shuttles for guests staying at the downtown hotels or the DoubleTree Hilton.

Can I bring a date?

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Where should we stay?

Answer

We have multiple hotel blocks listed under the "Travel and Accommodations" on our website. The Marriott Downtown & The Renaissance Savory, and Hotel Fort Des Moines are located in Downtown Des Moines.

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

The Ceremony is outdoors. The Cocktail Hour & Reception will be inside.

Will food & beverages be served at the Reception?

Answer

Yes, we will have a dinner at the reception with an open bar.

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

Yes, we have gluten free and vegan entrée options.

Question

Will transportation be provided to and from the hotels?

Answer

We are only providing shuttles after the reception. There is ample parking for those who feel comfortable driving, and Uber is a great option for those who don’t. Please stay safe and default to a ride service or carpooling if you plan to drink.
