We went to the same high school together but never actually spoke. I had a crush on Kyle back in high school when he was in my friend's French class, but never got the chance to talk to him. Years later, a few months before I was going to graduate college, we connected over, you guessed it, social media! We started talking, hanging out with each other and it grew from there!

We'd planned to go on a big trip to Tahoe for our five-year anniversary on April 4th, 2020, but just like many things in 2020, that was cancelled due to coronavirus. Kyle had originally planned on proposing while on a hike in Emerald Bay during our anniversary trip to Lake Tahoe, but he still made the best of it. On the day of our anniversary he suggested we go out for a hike somewhere around Sacramento, just to get us out of the house for a bit. He ended up proposing by the American River and I, of course, said yes!
