We met at a college bar. Classic. Somehow at a school of 1,800 students, it took us until September of senior year to meet. Charlie showed his narwhal tattoo and the rest was history. Just kidding…we were friends for a few months and suddenly started to see each other on campus regularly. Between our mutual friends, senior events, and friendly greetings between classes, we decided to give dating a whirl in February. Lucky for us, we were both hooked!

Many of you have had the pleasure of meeting (and probably being licked by) our dog, Avery. Since adopting her, we’ve worked on creating some routines. One of those is to walk with her at Discovery Park in Seattle at least one morning every weekend. I probably should have questioned it the one morning Charlie asked me to go there for a walk without her, but I just went along. On that misty morning in February, Charlie and I held hands as we passed a few other bundled up Seattleites. There’s a beautiful, quiet spot overlooking the Puget Sound, where he did the dang thing. He got down on his knee and confidently asked, Hannah, will you marry me? I smiled big, said yes, and we hugged for a long long while. We’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter with you! See you in Maine!
