Thoughts from the Happy Couple

We are so thankful to our parents for raising us and teaching us with godly principles and in love and truth. We owe so much of who we are to them! We are so thankful to live in a country where freedom and character is celebrated, a place where our faith can be heard and grown, and a nation that is worth fighting for. May we continue to pray and sacrifice for our beloved country! And most of all we are continually amazed at the undeserved kindness, faithfulness, and love that the LORD has continually showed us in Himself, in each other, and in special people like you. We will praise and honor His Name above all names forever and ever!

The Proposal Story

Her Version

It was the day before I graduated college and Korbahn said he wanted to cook me dinner. He came by the BCM house, where I was living at the time, to pick me up as he generally liked to do. As we were driving along, I noticed we were not going towards his apartment. He brushed it aside like it was no big deal. Not wanting to spoil a surprise for myself, I went along with it. Before I knew it we were at our favorite campus ministers' house. Confused but also amused I went with it. We went inside to a warm house where we had spent many meetings and fun times through the years. Korbahn had dinner keeping warm in the oven and sat me down at the nicely decorated table. Korbahn made a delicious dinner with many of my favorite things and even had a dessert! After we finished eating, we sat down by the warm fire and just talked for a bit. Then he got up and told me to close my eyes (we always do this for surprises for each other so it was not too unexpected). By the time I opened them again Korbahn had his guitar out and proceeded to play and sing a song for me with my name in it! How special was that! Things only got better from there. Next he said he wanted to go outside. And I was kinda confused then, because in case you forgot it was December, but once again I went with it because that is the least I could do after this wonderful evening he had put together. Once we got outside on the deck, I saw our telescope that he bought us all set up. What fun to get to star gaze too! Then before I knew it he handed me a heart-felt hand-written letter and once I finished reading it he dropped on one knee and asked me what no one else ever had...and I said yes!

His Version

The first time I met Elizabeth I knew she was different that any other girl. One thing about Elizabeth is that it is very hard to keep secrets from her. I went out and bought the ring, but didn't tell anybody, not even my parents or my roommates knew. I conspired with some close friends who let me use their beautiful home in Dahlonega for the proposal. For all Elizabeth knew, we were simply going on a date night the day before she graduated from college. I picked her up and brought her to the house and to her surprise I had made a full dinner for just the two of us with candles and romantic music, After eating one of her favorite meals, we relaxed for a few minutes by the fireplace. Elizabeth stepped away for a few minutes and that gave me the perfect opportunity to pull out my guitar. After she came back, I played for her a simple song that I put together just for her. After some quality time near the fire, I suggested we go outside and look at the stars (one of her favorite things to do). After stepping outside onto the back porch, she saw that I had set up a telescope just for her. Unfortunately it was a bit of cloudy night, but we were able to see some of the stars and city lights. While Elizabeth was distracted by the telescope, I managed to pull the ring out of my pocket and get down and one knee. I told her how thankful I was for her asked her if she would marry me...and she said YES!
