I’m Patty’s best friend, maid of honor, the yin to her yang. Our story began when she stalked me one day after class in middle school and we quickly became best friends. I think her parents knew she was a bad influence on me and that’s why they shipped her to Canada. Little did we know, distance wouldn’t make a difference in our friendship. Between 3 minute long voice notes, and constant random pictures/videos, we’ve managed to stay in each other’s lives for a little over 20 years. Now I’m getting ready to see her get married to this random guy she met at Costco…just kidding, Shay is pretty cool. I’m extremely happy to see her be loved by such an awesome human being, but mostly I’m happy she’s finally becoming an adult.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Shaheed. I'm the guy who's had the pleasure (and occasional misfortune) of knowing Shayaan since we were in diapers. Basically his side kick since he is the older one, and the guy who knows all of his secrets. I'm a big Habs fan and no one can convince me otherwise. From being on the same team playing hockey in the streets, to standing by his side on his and Patty’s special day, it’s been an honour and privilege being Shayaan’s best friend, and forever his brother.

I’m Selina, sister to the groom—or as I like to call myself, the real reason Patty is marrying Shay. Once she met me, she knew she had to keep me in her life forever. In addition to being the *self-proclaimed* favorite sister, I’m also the family’s reigning queen of sarcasm, unofficial wedding manager, and everyone’s go-to (unpaid) therapist. But most of all, I’m grateful and honored to stand by Shay and Patty on their big day!

I’m Saheel, more commonly known as “Turtle” by most. I have the honour of being Shayaan’s favourite younger brother. Writing about myself is not a strong suit of mine, so here is a list of adjectives that Patty and Shayaan commonly use to describe me: The Funniest Rattani, The Handsome Rattani, The Costco King. I don’t think of myself as a philosopher, however I find it ironic how most people love Costco, but here we have a couple who fell in love in a Costco. I am incredibly grateful to be standing by my brother and newest sister on their big day alongside all their loved ones!

Well, if I had to describe myself, I’d say I’m the Bride’s “incredibly awesome little brother.” I’ve had the honor of being Patty’s personal Uber driver, her unofficial life coach, and occasional snack supplier. When I’m not busy being a superhero in her life, you can find me doing anything that gets my adrenaline pumping—because let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good rush? Am I right? :)

Apparently, I have to describe myself too, so I’d say I’m the Bride’s “incrediblest, awesomest little brother.” As you may all know, being Patty’s sibling is no easy task, but I can assure you that this “job experience” has helped me develop many useful and atypical abilities, such as finding all of her snack hiding spots or flawlessly repeating what she says with a high-pitched voice. Despite that, nothing is more rewarding and blessed than being able to call Patty “sister” (or sometimes Mom, depending on how badly I’ve screwed up). In the end, I grew by her side to be a very simple person, assuming that true happiness comes in the form of football (soccer), Guinness, and good company.

People call me Sheh, the original (Shay). I was kinda forced into this relationship with Shayaan I guess you can say. As a kid I didn't have much say but 25 years, we made it. Most times I go by Shayaan's cousin but we've just known each other a lifetime so we're Framily (friends/family). I'm 1/3 of the Ratanshi brothers (yes there's 3 of us and we all look alike, no we're not triplets). I'm big but friendly just like most bears, teddy bears.

For those of you who don’t know me, and you should, my name is Sameer but many know me as Sum or the twin, or one of the triplets. I have the absolute honor of standing by Shayaan as one of his groomsmen. I’ve had the privilege of knowing Shayaan for 25 years. Being here today isn’t just about looking sharp in a suit—it’s about celebrating one of the most incredible guys I know as he embarks on the 2nd greatest adventure of his life. 1st was when he met us. Hi everyone! I'm Danielle, sister-in-law to La Mama (you may know her as Patty 😆) by way of her oldest brother, David. The moment we met it felt like we'd been family forever. From margarita lunches to consulting on date night outfits or sharing memes, we always connect despite the distance. Patty became the sister I never had, and I am honored to be by her side as she marries Shay. La Mama and Shay are wonderful tía and tío to our 4 little chicks and they take their roles very seriously! We're lucky to have Shay joining our family and wish them many years of love and friendship.

Hi, I’m Julio—Paty’s brother from another mother and the reason she once held Jared Leto’s hand for a full song. Best three minutes of her life (sorry, Shay). If she’s laughing uncontrollably, it’s probably because I’m around and I told one of my famously unfunny jokes (which, for some reason, Shay also finds hilarious). You’ll likely find me dancing: 0% rhythm, 100% enthusiasm. Let’s make some memories!

I’m Jay, but people sometimes call me Caillou! I’m also known as a better DJ than Shay, even though he thinks he is. However, I always tell him Despacito is not a good song! We met 10 years ago this year, and what a way to celebrate that mark with two beautiful people getting married! I am grateful to be one of the groomsmen! I can finally admit that Patty's French is not that bad!

Hi, I’m Ryan, and I’ve known Shay since his infamous leather jacket era. Eight years later, the jacket is gone (thankfully), but the friendship is still going strong. I am grateful to have the privilege of calling Shay a brother—and, on occasion, the best DJ (results may vary). I’m honored to stand by his side as he marries the incredible Patricia. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness, health, laughter, and love.

Hi, I’m Paola. Shortly after meeting Patty, she brought me a delicious tamale, and I knew she was the one. We bonded over our shared love of emo music (it wasn't just a phase!), and our laughter was endless. She became like family – my sister and I were her first Venezuelan friends, and she, my first Salvadorean. We are better than peas and carrots, she listens to Rawayana, and I love pupusas—even Shay's a fan! Now, we all enjoy watching Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham together. I’m so excited for their wedding; as any Latin American mother knows, it's a dream come true for her daughter to marry "Chayanne"! a.k.a Latin American Shahrukh Khan (for those who don't know) I love you guys and I bless you.

Hola I'm Heydi, I'm the friend Patty loves to describe as "she's 10 years younger than me but the mature one". I met Patty through my friendship with the twins (Patty's brothers) realizing quickly she's the better sibling!! I'm here to represent my Salvi country just like the bride! I'm the friend you call when you need someone to brighten your day, get you hyped or if you want to spend the whole day watching Netflix and eating, especially ceviche.

I'm Mat, and I love Shay. Patty stole him from me. Yes, Patty wrote that for me to launch the website as early as possible. I feel like it was just to prove how jealous she is of the love I have for Shay. In fact, I am the one who is jealous of the love they share together. All these years travelling the world together, playing board games for hours (always starting with one game and ends up 42 games later), watching you forget everything you infamously forget. I have tons of memories with you that make up for it. The best part of it is that not only do I consider Shay as one of my best friends, but also Patty now as they start their new journey together. I will always be your annoying third wheel though (even if it really is Patty).
