FAQs

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and gentlemen should wear a dress shirt, suit and tie, or a sports coat. Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors, so please keep this in mind when selecting both attire and footwear. Flats or sandals are encouraged.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Unfortunately, as our venue is not suitable for little ones, this will be an adults-only reception. We hope this will allow you a much-deserved night off to celebrate with us!

Question

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors by the stream. Please note, that the ceremony area is grassy, please select your footwear accordingly. Following the ceremony, guests are invited to join us for cocktail hour in the wagon shed. This will take place just below the barn and include lawn games and music as well as drinks and light hors d'oeuvres. Following cocktail hour, guests will be invited to make their way to the barn for dinner and dancing. Please note that the barn has many openings to encourage airflow throughout the space.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We ask that all guests arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of our ceremony to allow everyone time to find a seat. Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 pm so please plan to arrive no later than 3:45 pm.

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

There is a parking lot located on the property and is free for all guests! Upon arrival at the venue, carefully follow the driveway, just past the barn, and you will see the parking lot behind.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Due to the nature of a farm, our venue may be challenging to navigate for some. With this in mind, the venue is able to shuttle guests who require assistance to and from the ceremony space.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the ceremony on social media?

Answer

We invite you to be truly present with us during our nuptials with an unplugged ceremony. We kindly ask that phones and cameras remain out of sight until the ceremony conclusion!

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the cocktail hour and reception on social media?

Answer

Yes! We encourage guests to post pictures on their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #PatricklovesCourtney so we can keep track of all of your pictures! Please no photos during the ceremony.

Question

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

Please let us know as soon as possible if you have any dietary needs! This will allow us time to make arrangements with our vendors to ensure your needs are met.

Question

What is the venue doing differently in light of Covid?

Answer

Barn Swallow has taken many steps in order to assure the ceremony and reception spaces are as safe as possible. The barn has three large openings on the wall, allowing for optimal air flow during the reception. The barn features a state-of-the-art air purification system that will be operating at all times. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors.
