What should I wear?

It is typically warm with a breeze on the island. Dress for the beach. However, locals will not appreciate you walking around without a shirt or in a bathing suit if you are not on the beach, so plan accordingly. For the wedding events, shorts or linen pants and shirts and light dresses for the ladies are perfectly fine.

Why do locals say Goodnight when they are greeting me?

Answer

It is polite to greet everyone on island when you meet them. Good Morning, Good Afternoon, and Goodnight are all appropriate greetings. If you walk into a room and are greeted with Good Morning, is expected that you return the greeting in the same manner.
