We are getting married!

Luis and Hannah met in 2018, shared their testimonies and were fully transparent with each other. They realized they liked each other so Luis asked Hannah on a date. They proceeded to date for almost 7 months and realized they were better as friends. Their friendship was on and off for a few years after that because they were not in close proximity like they used to. Every time they would bump into each other at worship nights, it was like no time had ever passed and they were back to being best friends again. In 2022, Hannah had 2 dreams in the same week where the Lord was showing her that Luis is her husband. She began to miss Luis but would not reach out because she knew to trust the Lord with it all. That same summer, Luis randomly reached out to her, which opened the door for them to reconnect. In October, they started seeing each other weekly at worship nights. Hannah did not share anything with Luis about her dreams. It was looking like they were not getting together because Luis was praying to remain in singleness. But Hannah stood firm, silently, in faith of what the Lord had shown her. In December, Luis decided to have a conversation with Hannah. He knew they had history and were becoming closer. He wanted to make sure they were on the same page and that he wasn’t leading her on in any way. He loved her but only wanted to be friends. So he communicated where he was, Hannah understood, and the friendship continued. In January 2023, Luis had a dream where the Lord communicated to him that Hannah is his wife. Luis woke up slightly freaking out because, two weeks prior, he had told Hannah that he just wanted to be friends. How could he tell her his dream and that they are supposed to get married?! So he prayed and asked the Lord for the right timing to share. On a February afternoon, Hannah visited Luis. She said that the Holy Spirit told her to talk with him but didn’t know why. Luis realized that it was time to share the dream. He told her about it which opened the door for Hannah to share her dreams. They knew this was from the Lord! Three hours passed like they were minutes, as they sat and talked. Luis confessed that he prayed that if the Lord wanted him to be married, He would have to reveal it to the both of them through dreams and they would have to be best friends. Here they were: both had dreams and they are best friends. In the following months, they sought wisdom and made themselves available to be teachable and to receive correction. They desired to grow and walk in what God had spoken to them. It came with challenges but they faced them together. Through it all, they remembered that they are on each other’s team and not against one another. In July 2023, Luis began planning his proposal and their engagement party. He contacted friends and family, secured locations, delegated responsibilities and, within a week, he had everything planned for September. In September, Hannah arrived to the location where Luis was waiting to propose to her. She had no idea what was happening. She was completely surprised and shocked. After she said “yes!”, they went to celebrate with close friends and family. Here they are now, planning a wedding! Luis and Hannah love the Lord immensely and one another. They are excited to build a life and future that brings Him glory. Thank you for reading their story!
