The center of Kennebunkport’s shops, boutiques, and art galleries.
Take a walk or drive along Ocean Avenue for some of the most beautiful views of Maine’s rocky coastline. Check out the beautiful homes, ocean cliffs, Walker’s Point (the Bush Compound), and the inside of our historic church - St. Ann’s.
There are 9 beaches in the area. Here are some favorites: Gooch’s Beach: The largest public beach in Kennebunk. Parking passes are required and can be purchased from the kiosks along Beach Avenue or via the PassPortParking mobile app. Colony Beach: A small beach right across from the Colony. Parking spaces are limited, so we recommend walking over from the Colony. Goose Rock’s Beach: One of the most scenic beaches in Maine - 15 minute drive from the Colony. Parking passes are required and can be purchased from kiosks outside the Goose Rock’s Beach General store or along King’s Highway.
Kennebunkport has several unique art galleries, including Maine Art Hill.
The Boathouse: One of our favorite spots for dinner/lunch, with views of the Kennebunk River. Batson River: Maine brewery with outdoor seating and a great selection of beer, cocktails, and snacks. Wandby Landing: Cozy spot with pasta, pizza, and cocktails. Arundel Wharf: Seafood restaurant right on the Kennebunk River. Nice place to sit and watch the boats go by. The Pilot House: Fun spot for lunch/dinner with a casual American menu and views of Kennebunk River. Alisson’s: Great place to grab lunch with a sports bar atmosphere. Mabel’s Lobster Claw: Lobster rolls and other seafood. Mabel’s Shack next door is a good option for lunch on-the-go. Mornings in Paris: Small cafe with coffee and pastries. Coveside Market: Small market with snacks, wine/beer, and coffee right near the Colony.
