We met back in 2012 after I added Zach on Facebook, and a few days later he messaged me asking me on a date. Come to find out our families had known each other since before we were born. Our dads both in law enforcement had worked together and were even neighbors at one point. All that time and we never had met. We went on our first date at the movie theater to see Ted (awful, I know) and the rest is history. We met when we were only 19 and 22, so we have really grown together through adulthood.
After 8 and a half LONG years, Zach finally asked the big question on November 27, 2020. We had spent the entire week at our hunting camp in South Carolina in hopes of getting me a nice big buck. Zach hunted with me morning and night, which I found to be unusual since I generally hunt alone. We didn't see a single deer every day we hunted; par for the course. On our last morning to hunt, and after yet again not having any success, we both climbed out of the stand feeling defeated. Shortly thereafter, Zach made up some story on a whim about why I needed to take a walk with him through a peach farm. As I am walking ahead of him through rows of peach trees, he said something to make me turn around, and there he was, on one knee, with the most beautiful ring, to ask me to be his wife!
