The story began on the floor of the freshman dorm on Commonwealth Avenue. Noah turned to the girl with box dyed red hair and introduced himself in Chinese. Something unspoken passed, as if the city had quietly conspired to bring them together at just the right time. As autumn deepened into winter, so did their friendship. Boston's snow fell heavily just as every other year, but the cold never quite touched them.
