NITHYA: If you asked us how we met, I’d say it was at the office, and there was this guy who was a little too well-dressed for a Friday afternoon who walked over and... MATT: I casually said, "Did you… uh, happen to hear about the robbery in the office?" I know, not exactly the smoothest line. But honestly, I was totally intrigued by the new girl in the office and couldn’t think of anything better. NITHYA: Maybe it was a little too smooth, because I was completely oblivious and started asking a million questions about WHY there was a robbery. Anyway, that was the start of our friendship. [Editor’s Note: No one was harmed in the “robbery” —someone snuck into the office and stole an employee’s credit card…not unlike how Matt stole Nithya’s heart.] MATT: Okay, well, I told myself I was going to marry you the minute I saw you. NITHYA: Oh. MATT: Well then… let’s continue, shall we? NITHYA: Anyway, I had just returned to the Bay Area after seven years on the East Coast, while you had been in San Jose since graduating college. MATT: Yeah, so we were seated next to each other in the office, and, you know, things just clicked. We quickly became an inseparable team. NITHYA: We launched marketing campaigns, organized office parties, and became the go-to duo for getting things done. Basically, if something needed to happen, we were on it. MATT: Our skills and personalities just fit together perfectly. Nithya’s creativity and, let’s say, fun-loving nature, really meshed well with my curiosity and analytical side. NITHYA: We had such a great time working together that the days just flew by. Plus, we both loved food and had a knack for finding hidden gems in downtown San Jose, so every day felt like an early start to the weekend. MATT: But then, in March 2020, everything changed. NITHYA: Yeah, while the world hit pause due to COVID, our story was just beginning. We officially started dating, moved in together... and let’s be honest, binge-watched Tiger King. MATT: And that’s where it all started. NITHYA: We’ve been through a lot since then—moves to San Jose, Oakland, and LA, starting and selling a business, job changes, international travel... so many adventures. MATT: But through it all, we've remained best friends and even better partners. Life's been busy and unpredictable, but we embrace the chaos together. NITHYA: And make sure it stays FUN. MATT: That’s the most important part. So with that, we’re excited to celebrate our love and can’t wait for you to join us on this special day! NITHYA: See you in Bali!
