Washington State Fair
The Washington State Fair will be going on from Aug 30-Sept 22, so if that interests you, there is plenty of fun to be had and many concerts as well. Just note the fair is closed each Tuesday.
Point Defiance Park
Point Defiance Park is a beautiful outdoor spot in Tacoma with walking trails, beaches, a zoo, marina and rose gardens.
Point Ruston
A great locale on the Tacoma Waterfront with many restaurants, shops, a fountain, boardwalk and movie theatre.
McMenamins Elk Temple
A brand new hotel/restaurant destination in Tacoma that is in an old restored building. It has a very cool vibe, and the McMenamins franchise is very unique and well known along the northern part of the US West Coast.
Museum of Glass
This museum is dedicated to the art of blown glass and is really neat to see. Depending on the time, they allow you to watch the glass blowing live and ask questions of the artists.
