Our Story

Like the true millennials they are, Drew and Neha met the modern-fashioned way-- on a dating app! Coincidentally, both had only just moved to the Pacific Northwest in the summer of 2018. Drew, a Washington native, was finally returning home and looking to settle down after over a decade scattered across the country. Neha, the misplaced rain-loving California girl, had traveled north in search of gray skies and new beginnings. Both were ready for the next chapters of their lives, which they soon found, would be written together. When Drew (pronounced like the past tense of draw) and Neha (or Ney, pronounced like the month of May) first matched, Ney protested the idea of a stereotypical first date, so Drew decided that some cheap scares at a haunted house would be the perfect way to release some of the first-date tension, and fortunately for him, Ney agreed. For their second date, a hike amongst the gorgeous PNW Evergreens, Ney brought along a secret weapon, her 3 month old Golden Retriever puppy, Ellie. By the end of the hike, it was clear that Ellie had decided that Drew and she would be together forever. Two years and several hikes later, on the anniversary of their first date, Ellie and Drew invited Ney for yet another hike, to Poo Poo Point atop Tiger Mountain. It was there that Ellie delivered the ring, while Drew dropped to a knee and asked Neha if they could be together forever as well.

Our Wedding

Soon after their engagement, Ney and Drew decided it wasn’t worth trying to wait out a global pandemic to delay the start of their happily married lives together. So, in keeping with their modern ways (and COVID-19 safety protocols), Drew and Ney decided to have their fairy tale wedding ceremony via ZOOM. On December 12, 2020, in front of a laptop perched precariously on a tower of plastic bins, with their immediate families assorted in a Brady Bunch-like fashion on the screen, Neha and Drew were wed in their living room, illuminated by the twinkling lights of their fake Christmas tree, and flanked by their beloved pets, Ellie and Olive. After the last three years together as a couple, and our own individual journeys, we recognize the impact that every one of you has had on our lives, both individually and as a couple. As such, the celebration of our love would not be truly complete without a big, fat Indian wedding reception with all of our family and friends! Now, with the availability of several COVID-19 vaccine options, we finally feel comfortable in hosting such an event safely. We hope that you will join us, on the evening of March 5th, 2022 for a cocktail hour, followed by our vow renewal ceremony, dinner, drinks, and dancing.

COVID- 19 Considerations

Your health and safety are our top priority. To ensure everyone’s safety, we ask that ALL guests be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least one month prior to the reception. Given the size of the event, and its California location, we expect a requirement of vaccination status before entry into the Marriot banquet hall. While guests are certainly welcome to wear masks, they will not be required.

Children

To maximize the enjoyment of all adults, we politely request our guests help us minimize the number of attendants under the age of 18. While exceptions will certainly be made, if at all possible, we encourage you to come enjoy some adult-style fun! Please note, that for any guests under the age of 18, if they are currently age-eligible, we also ask that they be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of their attendance.
