Bride
In case you are wondering, I am the grooms most favorite person in the entire world. I am a Carolina girl and have lived in Raleigh my whole life. While earning my Bachelor of Arts degree in the Justice and Social Ethics program at The College at Southeastern in Wake Forest, I work for a local non-profit, Renewing Hope International. My interests include trying new foods, traveling, beach vacations, spending time with friends, and driving with the music up and the windows down. I am thrilled to be able to marry my kind, strong, and faithful best friend this summer! I am still amazed at how God has orchestrated our story so far, and look forward to seeing where he takes us next. Thank you for celebrating this life-changing commitment with us. We’ll see you June 2nd!
Groom
I came to the US in 2015 to study Theology and Pastoral Ministry at SEBTS, and to live with Daniel and Ashli Messina for a year. If you know me, you know that my study focus has changed, and I have been living with the Messina family for more than a year. As God's plans prevail and my plans fall down, I am constantly being surprised by God. The best surprise by far? I have met the most awesome woman in the world at about 4711 miles away from home, Jaraguá do Sul-SC. On June 2nd, her family, friends, and God will grant me the privilege of celebrating and publicly inaugurating our matrimony and union. I am very excited and can't wait to commemorate this special moment with you guys!
Maid of Honor
I am Aubrey's favorite sister :) There's no other sister that Aubrey loves more than me. Yes, I am her only sister but that's not the point. The point is that my dear sister and I are very close, and I am already missing her for abandoning me (the excitement of having the bedroom all by myself triumphs over that and I am excited for you getting married). I am happy for Aubrey and Natan and glad to support them in their marriage.
Best Man
Mauricio is not only Natan's Best Man but also his best friend and father. Mauricio lives in Jaraguá do Sul, SC, in Brazil. He is the president and founder of Centrium Informática. Mauricio has been Natan's best friend since the beggining. He's Natan's most faithful supporter. In between serving at Church, working at his company, and spending some lovely moments with his granddaughter (AKA cutest girl in the universe), he cycles around the world for fun. He loves war-history, all-things technology, his family, and God's mission.
Bridesman
I grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, and I have been best friends with Aubrey since birth. I love coffee, flowers, and cooking. I am currently in college at Columbia International University, studying business and Bible. My dream is to start my own business one day.
Groomsman
Natan and I met in our first semester at SEBTS in a History of Ideas class. I remember looking across the room and seeing him as he looked like a rapper with headphones always on and a hoodie. Since then, we have spent many days, study-nights, and weekends together. I have enjoyed Natan’s friendship as we always talk openly about whatever it is that we are currently learning or wrestling with. I am so happy Natan has met Aubrey as I think she is a really godly and sweet young woman, and I can’t wait to see them grow together, serve Jesus together, spend life together, and learn to love one another as people have to in marriage. I think that God has brought them together and that they are a good fit as they seem to really compliment each other.
Bridesmaid
Shereen and Aubrey have been friends for several years and connected through young adults small group. Their friendship has grown through co-leading a high school girls small group together. Shereen is from Oklahoma but has lived in Puebla, Mexico and currently lives in Raleigh, NC. She loves traveling, crafting, visiting with friends, and dancing. She also loves praying with people and spending time with God in nature.
Groomsman
Jermaine is very dear to Natan. Even though Jermaine has a "phone-replying" issue, Natan's care for him is greater than that. Before life happened and we had to juggle school, work, church, girlfriends, and other things, we hung out quite a lot. Whenever we are together we always have a blast, and I am excited for Natan and Aubrey as they take this next step.
Bridesmaid
Kelton and Aubrey are cousins. They have enjoyed many Starbucks runs, Cousin Camp adventures, and late night snacks together. Kelton is a sophomore in high school in Jamestown, NC. She enjoys playing ukulele, cosmetology, fashion design and thrift shopping. She also enjoys traveling and has recently visited Germany and France.
Groomsman
I am the 22 year older brother of the Bride. I am currently enrolled at East Carolina University pursuing a degree in Operations and Supply Chain Management. I work part time at Mulch Man a local landscaper and part time as an intern at Crossroads Fellowship. I enjoy the outdoors, sports, thinking, and all types of music. My hope in life is to use my skills and experience to help others grow, physically, mentally, and spiritually. In particular I hope to use business to serve underdeveloped economies.
Bridesmaid
Bri and Aubrey met in 7th grade at Crossroads Fellowship and have been close friends ever since. They've had many adventures, from picnics on rooftops to mission trips in Mexico. Bri is a Raleigh native and currently works at New Life Camp. She plays the piano, guitar, and the ukulele and enjoys art and reading. She also loves hanging out with friends and family, spending time with God in the midst of nature, and thrives off of car-ride karaoke.
Groomsman
Evan is 15 years old and a freshman in high school. He plays basketball and football. Some of his other interests are participating in a drama group and fishing. He is a brother of the bride and loves to watch tv shows and movies with the bride and groom.
Junior Bridesmaid
My name is Evelyn, and I live in Jamestown, North Carolina. What I know about Aubrey, she is my cousin, and she is sweet, kind, and nice. I like to go roller skating, to dance and playing with my new puppy, Link. I am a Junior in Girl Scouts and have been in my troop for five years. I also like playing with my friends.
Groomsman
Natan and Bruce met at Crossroads Fellowship, back when both were leading young adult groups. Their second conversation turned into a multi-hour tour of theology and metaphysics - which over time, turned into somewhat of a trend... Bruce lives in Denver at the moment, working at software startup Nextworld. He loves playing ultimate frisbee, cajoling friends into long roadtrips, and is home wherever there's good music or water.
Flower Girl
Kennedi is Aubrey’s cousin. Daughter of Kimberly and Jamie Brown, this little cutie is a joy to those around her. She enjoys playing with her dolls, going to school (especially when they serve ravioli for lunch), attending hockey games with her family, and dancing in princess dresses. She also loves her puppy, Denver. Kennedi is excited to be the flower girl for Natan and Aubrey’s wedding, “as soon as she gets a flower basket.”
Ring Bearer
Jackson is Natan’s youngest brother-in-law. He is in first grade in Raleigh, NC. Jackson enjoys playing games and watching movies with Natan and Aubrey. His other interests include creating artwork, playing drums, eating Chickfila and performing magic shows for the whole family. When he grows up he wants to be a “police-firefighter.”
Mother of the Bride
Shelley is the mother of the bride. As a wife and mother of five, she stays busy homemaking, homeschooling, and working supplementally at Wake Med as a physical therapist. Her interests include cooking, crafting, event planning, and camping. She has also been a Girl Scout leader 15 years. Her faithfulness to God and her family have been a great example to her daughter. She is very grateful to be able to gain another son through this marriage and is excited to celebrate at the wedding!
Mother of the Bride
Nihura is Natan dear mom. My "mãe" is the mom every kid wants. I grew up playing with her because she left her job to dedicate herself fully to parenting. She made me scrapbooks, which I love and still keep, for years, making sure my bad memory wouldn't be a problem for me to re-live happy moments with my family. She teaches German and English to pre-k students, and also leads small groups and preaches at my church in Brazil. Even though she is far away, she is handmaking the cutest bridesmaids and groomsmen's gifts to make sure everyone can keep June 2018 in their hearts forever.
Father of the Bride
John is the father of the bride. He is a husband and father of his five children. He holds the position of System’s Pastor at Crossroads Fellowship, where he has worked for 15 years. His interests include watching movies with his family and friends, visiting museums, beach vacations, and reading about American history. His dedication to raising his children in the Lord and his pursuit of a special, individual relationship with each are appreciated and admired by the bride and groom. He is excited for this marriage, and also excited for the grandchildren that will come as a result.
Officiant
Daniel (in Portuguese, "Daniel"), is Natan's Youth-Pastor-Landlord-friend-second-dad-host-dad and now 100% American and 100% Brazilian (debatable) friend. Daniel's dad was Natan's dad's youth-pastor in Brazil a few decades ago. If that wasn't enough, Aubrey also babysat his kiddos and worked with him as an intern at Crossroads for a few months. Daniel is very dear to us, and his passion for God and God's people (and just people in general) is very inspiring to us. With his wife, Ashli Messina (AKA Natan's second mom), and the super-three (Gabriel, Joshua, and Joel), they form the super-family: the Messina squad. We are very blessed to have the Messinas as our friends, and we are glad Daniel agreed to be our officiant.
