The day I met Natalie I could not wait to ask her out. I hurried home from work and asked my sister in-law if it was okay for me to hit on the new girl at work. She lights up the room with her smile and her eyes are something I could lose myself in for hours. She’s the funniest person I know, she makes me laugh uncontrollably daily. She’s my favorite part of this world. She supports my golf addiction, and she’s always up for an adventure. No less than 3 times a month she’ll send me flight deals with the simple question “you down?”. I can’t wait for our life, and cherish every memory we have made in the last five years. Love, John

John Frank Sibal is the most empathetic and caring person I’ve ever met. I knew the first week I met him that I wanted to marry a man like him, and sure enough, almost 5 years later I get to marry exactly him. He is wicked smart and can describe many complex chemical engineering processes. He is truly my best friend and I love spending any amount of time with him, especially outside doing one of our hobbies. Xoxo, Natalie
Sloan Paschen

Sloan is Natalie’s cousin and is 5 weeks older than her. They grew up together and had “cousin swaps” where the boy cousins would go to the Bro’s house and the girls would go to Paschen’s, in Illinois. Sloan and Natalie were the closest thing they each had to a sister (both only have brothers) and had always said they’d be each other maids of honor one day! They both ended up at the University of Wisconsin for college and loved having the comfort of family around.
Phoenix Jones
Best Man
Phoenix’s first words to John back in 2009 were “hey I start over you!”. Who knew that smart ass comment would be the start of a lifetime of friendship. In high school, the two did everything together. From football, to their first beers in a sand trap at a golf course next to Phoenix’s house. The two have been known to bicker like brothers, because for all intensive purposes they are.
Taylor Darnell Sibal

Taylor is John’s Sister-in-law who Natalie has gotten super close with throughout their time dating. She is a great role model for Natalie and has guided her through the wedding planning. Natalie is the godmother of Taylor’s son, Bowden and she is very excited to be gaining an “official” sister with Taylor standing at her side.
Adam Sibal
Groomsman
Adam has been John’s role model since he could walk. Everything John did was because Adam did it first. From football, to boy scouts, to chemical engineering. John has always followed in the size 13 foot steps led by his older brother. Adam has always been there in his brothers defense. From beating up bullies to talking the parents out of corporal punishment when John got caught doing something stupid.
Cate Pfeiff

Cate was Natalie’s first friend she made in college. She sat down right behind Natalie on the very first day of Calc 3 their Freshmen year and mentioned she was studying Chemical Engineering and Natalie swung around and said “same”. After that they became fast friends and spent countless hours together studying and doing homework. Cate actually got hired to work for Cargill by Natalie’s Uncle Jon, so she’s in with the family. These two were so inseparable that they shared a “prison cell” dorm room for their summer class in Hong Kong.
Matt Sibal

Matt, also known as Moose, is the oldest of the three Sibal brothers. He would do anything for his two little brothers. Wherever he goes, Moose is the life of the party! Throughout college, Moose visited College Station several times to see John. Moose and John love to fish, golf, and hangout together every chance they get.
Louisa Steinhafel

Louisa and Natalie have gone to school together since they were 5 years old, but didn’t become best friends until their freshmen year of high school because of carpool. They played countless games of Temple Run on an iPod Touch. They stayed extremely close all four years of high school and went on the Latin class trip to Italy together their senior year. They both stayed in Wisconsin for college, Louisa at Marquette and visited each other multiple times. Natalie has also been able to visit both the cities Louisa has interned and worked in, DC and New York.
Reed Olmon

Reed and John met back in 2015 after a Rush party prior to pledging Delta Tau Delta at Texas A&M. Throughout pledgeship the two became quick best friends. During their remaining 3 years of college, the two enjoyed many DP shoot outs, lemon drops, and various other refreshments at their favorite bars. John and Reed were often found asleep on the couch next to each other after a long night out.
Maggie Roethle

Maggie and Natalie went to high school together at DSHA, they were class friends but hung out with separate groups. Once college decision time came around and they were both going to University of Wisconsin-Madison (along with 40+ other girls), they randomly decided to room together. Even though they were choosing to live together because they weren’t best friends, they quickly became very close and ended up living together all four years. Living with Maggie was one of Natalie’s favorite part of college because they would have random dance parties, motivate each other to workout (even ran the Madison Half Marathon together), baking nights, and eating the delicious food their third roommate, Sammi cooked).
Colton Kirkby

Colton and John met as pledges back in 2015. The two bonded quickly over their background as Eagle Scouts when they were tasked to lash some poles together. John and Colton spent many late nights together playing one of their favorite games called “drink the handle”.
Margaret Bodalski

Margaret and Natalie met in kindergarten at Saint Mary’s (where Natalie and John are getting married!) and Margaret was there when Natalie stuck a bead up her nose during nap time and had to go to the ER and be put in a straight jacket to get it out. They were best friends all of grade school but went separate ways to different high schools. They rekindled their friendship at their first job, Sendik’s (a grocery store in their home town), the second half of high school. Margaret lived with Maggie and Natalie for their sophomore summer in Madison during college, which was such a blast. They studied abroad the same semester and did a couple trips together, including visiting Copenhagen where Natalie studied abroad, and met up in Sicily where they climbed Europe’s most active volcano, Mt. Etna.
Alex Gonzalez

Alex and John met in 2006, when Alex moved to the Woodlands. Alex had been interested in joining the Scouts, and John invited him to join his troop. Alex and John spent every month as tent partners. When the Scout Master told them they should include the other kids, they both responded with a resounding “no”. Alex and John’s friendship rekindled in college when Alex joined Delt. The two were roommates for 2 years in school, and Alex acted as John’s chauffeur. John discovered Alex’s background as a witch in 2018. Since then he has been known to cast spells on all who pass.
Judson Bro
Usher
Judson is Natalie’s older brother. Growing up it was always Judson and Natalie against their younger brother, Ian. Natalie followed in Judson’s footsteps and also became an engineer. He is a superstar at golf and can whoop their entire family at the game. Natalie is more of a golf newbie and won’t play full rounds with Judson, yet.
Ian Bro

Ian is Natalie’s younger brother. He was always the rambunctious younger brother who hung around Natalie and her friends but has grown to be a respectable young man. He followed in Natalie’s footsteps to attend the University of Wisconsin (but did not pursue engineering) and they had 1 year of overlap, although they did not cross paths on campus very often.
Camila Sibal

Camila is John’s niece and first child of his brother, Adam, and wife, Taylor. She was born John’s first week of work in January 2019. She is a boatload of energy that is reflected in her wild curls. She loves her Uncle JJ and NatNat (soon to be Auntie NatNat). John and Natalie have loved watching her grow up and become a loving and confident little girl.
Bowden Sibal
Ring Bearer
Bowden is John’s nephew and second child of Adam and Taylor. He was born in May of 2021, soon after, Adam and Taylor asked John and Natalie to be his godparents. Obviously, they were extremely flattered, it was indicating that Natalie was part of the family even before John put a ring on it! They baptized him in November of 2021 in Urbana (where Adam and Taylor are living while Adam gets his PhD). Bowden is a chonk and is well on his way to being right guard, just like his dad!
