We met in January 2015 on a ski trip to Deep Creek, Maryland. Out of about 20 friends, we were the only two who didn’t know each other. Neither of us liked the cold, so while everyone else was skiing, we stayed indoors, talking and laughing. By the end of the weekend, we already knew there was something special between us. After that trip, we texted each other every day until our first date a week later. Brandon planned the date at a jazz club on U Street in Washington DC, where we had so much fun that we nearly got kicked out for making too much noise. About a month later, Brandon was returning from a work trip to Seattle, and Nalini surprised him by picking him up at the airport with a red heart balloon. That night, he surprised her back with roses in his apartment, with a little help from his roommate, and a handwritten letter asking her to be his girlfriend. We spent four years building a life together in the DC area before Brandon moved to New York for business school. For the next four years, we traded train rides and weekend visits. Nalini even lived in New York for six months before her dream job brought her back to DC. Eventually, Brandon followed. He began commuting to New York weekly so we could share a home again. Since then, we’ve built a life filled with the things we love most: cooking together, binging shows, exploring the world as foodies, breaking into song snippets together, and hosting celebrations with friends. On May 31, 2024, Brandon proposed at South Street Seaport in Manhattan, followed by dinner overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge and a celebration with some of our closest friends. The best part of our story is only just beginning, and we’re so grateful to share it with all of you!

Casual Attire: Anything goes, from sundresses and sandals to jeans and tees.
Join us to kick off the wedding weekend with light bites, cocktails, and mocktails while we soak in the sunset and celebrate with our favorite people. Want to get a little festive? We'll have a henna artist at our welcome night! Henna Tips for Guests: 1. Come early if you're interested. Henna takes time, and designs will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. 2. Wear short sleeves or loose clothing. This helps the artist access your hands and wrists comfortably. 3. Plan to relax while it dries. Henna paste takes 15–30 minutes to dry, and smudging can affect the final result. 4. Embrace the fade. The design will darken over 24–48 hours and typically lasts 5-10 days depending on skin type and placement.
5:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Formal / Cultural Chic: We'd love for you to dress to impress! Formal attire is encouraged - think suits, gowns, elegant dresses, or jumpsuits. You're also welcome to wear cultural attire that celebrates your background or ours!
Our ceremony blends Hindu and Christian traditions, so you'll see a beautiful mix of styles. Bright colors are welcome - we kindly ask that guests avoid wearing red or white, as those are traditionally reserved for the couple in Hindu and Christian weddings.
