Taylor & I are both RNs. :) I had been working on the SICU for about 2 years, then Taylor started working there too! Initially, he was just a new nurse. I loved helping/teaching the new nurses, so I helped him a lot. Taylor & I loved working together, because we always helped each other throughout our shifts! Aside from helping each other, we always seemed to make working night shift more enjoyable. So, we decided, "let's just work all of the same shifts!" Truly, at this point, we just loved working together! Ironically, we were floated to an outside hospital together for a shift and hit it off! (Btw, no one has floated there from our unit for years before this and no one has floated there since, especially 2 SICU nurses together). It didn't take long before Taylor & I became good friends. After working 36 hours together each week, we started talking about things other than just work. I mentioned that I needed to get my flowers planted for the summer. So, Taylor offered to come over and trim my bushes, trim my tree, & plant my flowers. A few days after that conversation, he did just that! It's safe to say that I was more than thankful... & that my heart skipped a few beats. Taylor mentioned that his dad has a model house nearby. He asked if I'd be interested in seeing it. Of course I was!! We picked a day and met at the house. He showed me around the house, then we sat on the front porch in the rocking bench and talked for quite some time. Within minutes of the conversation, I knew I was falling for Taylor. He knew he felt the same way for me too. Shortly after that, Taylor took me on our first date to Flemings, followed by a long cruise in the jeep down the back roads with the doors off. After our date, we just knew. He is my person. I am his. When you know, you just know. So, the rest was history! Now we're inseparable, SO in love, have gone on so many adventures, and we can't wait to spend forever together!!! Also, Riley and Stella LOVE their dad!!! :)
We love to travel! We go on new adventures every chance we can! Taylor & I were in Florida when we found my absolute dream engagement ring. A few months later, we went on a trip to Las Vegas and Utah. We always wing it on our trips and never truly make plans. We'll jot down vague ideas before the trip, but nothing extensive. Really, we get out there and use AllTrails to chase the prettiest views we can find around us/on our route to the next destination. We flew into Vegas and spent a night at The Wynn Hotel. Taylor surprised me with a room on the top floor in a corner suite. It was so beautiful, and I was so excited. The next day we planned to drive to our Airbnb near Zion National Park in Utah. On our way there, we took a detour through Valley of Fire National Park. It was breathtaking with the red rocks and the mountains in the background. The mountains reminded us of our favorite place, Colorado. Taylor was persistent that I wear the GoPro when we got out to admire the mountains... I was too excited and didn't want to! Lol! So, he put it on himself. I set up the tripod with my phone camera to take pics in front of the mountains. Taylor was reaalllyy into taking these pics and making sure we were in the perfect spot. Once he found the best spot, he dropped to his knee and popped the question! It was so perfect!! After this, he told me he was going to do it in Zion on our hike, but he just couldn't wait!! It was the best day and my favorite surprise (although I should've taken a hint when he forgot all his electronics at the Cinci airport, he was so nervous lol!!) I can't wait to be Taylor's wifey!! We cannot wait to celebrate our love with all of our favorite people. It will truly be the BEST DAY EVER!!! See you at the wedding! ~Always, Nichole & Taylor
