During the heart of the pandemic, Morgan and Don began talking on Snapchat and Facetime around January 12th, 2021. While Don was in Madison, WI on leave from the United States Marine Corps while Morgan was on Christmas break at the time at home in Appleton, WI. On January 27th, they met for the first time when Don drove from Madison to Milwaukee to take Morgan out on their first date. He took her plane watching at Gen. Mitchell Airport as that is Morgan’s interest with aviation as well as Taco Bell. Don then departed from Madison the next day back to base in Hawaii as his leave was over. He was stationed in Hawaii for 9 months before returning back home on leave again in November 2021. Don got off the plane, enjoyed some time with his family in Madison and then headed over to Morgan’s school (Concordia University). Don was able to attend Morgan’s dance team performances and visit with each other's families in Madison, Appleton, & Cedar Rapids for the Thanksgiving Holiday. In early December 2021, Don flew back to Hawaii before leaving for a deployment in Okinawa, Japan. After a five-year service to the United States Marine Corps, Don was honorably discharged in October 2022. On October 6th, 2022, Morgan picked up Don at the airport in Madison. Don and Morgan got engaged on January 14th, 2023, in Fox Lake WI about the two-year anniversary of dating. Don is currently working on pursuing a business degree while Morgan is getting ready to graduate with the December 2023 class with her BSN RN Nursing degree.
