One of my favorite days ever. Rob and I worked for the same Oil and Gas company when we met that wonderful day. I was living in Houston, TX, working at our corporate office for the president of the US Division. He was going to San Antonio for a Safety Celebration for the San Antonio field office and allowed me to go along with him. The reason I really wanted to go, was my parents were in San Antonio that week for a business class and I wanted to see them. When I got to the field office in San Antonio for the celebration, I was just focused on walking through the sea of men as quick as I could to find my friend and co-worker, Anjali. My attempt to keep my eyes focused on Anjali's location was thwarted by this handsome man in the crowd who I met eyes with...you guessed it, Rob was his name. We ended up eating lunch across from each other and talking for awhile after the event. He got my email address and left it at that. A couple weeks later we were in contact again and the rest, as they say, is history.
Wow, this day is also one of my favorite days ever. For my 37th birthday Rob took me to South Padre Island for the weekend. We got there on Friday, my birthday, and had dinner and went to the pool. The next day Rob and I had a great day, doing all kinds of activities. That evening we went to dinner at a restaurant over looking the bay. It really was such a beautiful day. When we got back to the hotel we grabbed Winnie dog and went for a walk on the beach, right around sunset. I had told Rob earlier that evening I wanted to get a picture of the two of us, because I liked what we were wearing (I was just throwing lobs for the guy unknowingly). As we were walking along the beach there was a very friendly lady who was so excited about Winnie, so we stopped so she could pet and talk to Winnie. Rob said, "I am going to ask her to take our picture, she seems perfect". Boy was he right. He asked her to take our picture and hold Winnie for us during the picture. As we were getting positioned, Rob told me to look behind me at "something crazy". I turned to see what he was talking about and of course saw nothing; so I turned back to look at him and he was on his knee holding out a ring and asked me to marry him. I couldn't believe it, it was the most perfect and romantic place and time for such a life changing event and it all was documented by that sweet random lady. It was a day that I will remember for the rest of my life.
