Question

Parking

Answer

We have provided an image of recommended places to park and a general layout of the area for your reference. There are a limited number of handicap accessible spots located in front of the theater. Parking is mostly free on Sundays unless otherwise marked. If in doubt, you can look at this link on the New Brunswick Parking website: https://www.njnbpa.org/parking-info/parking-rates/

Question

Thoughts on the pandemic...

Answer

State Theatre NJ is a newly renovated space with health and safety in mind. This includes all new restrooms with touchless technology, a new HVAC system that exceeds industry standards for virus filtration and air flow, as well as hand sanitizer stations throughout the facility. We encourage guests to stay home if they're feeling ill. Masks are strongly encouraged but not required.

Question

Is there a ceremony?

Answer

Nope! We will have already said our vows beforehand at an intimate affair in Mount Rainier National Park, Washington. However, we would love to share those special moments with you so we have prepared a screening of our wedding video at the theater!

Question

What can we expect?

Answer

This is our celebration post-ceremony. You will be welcomed through the inner lobby to the bar where you can grab a beverage and appetizer of your choosing. Feel free to tour the theater at this time- it’s newly renovated! Once you’ve had your refreshments, please join us in the theater auditorium for a screening of our wedding video (bring some tissues... it was beautiful). After we've walked down memory lane all together, the band will kickoff our celebration with a handful of traditional celebratory dances. Heavy hors d’oeuvres and dessert will be available afterwards. If you're looking to have dinner in town beforehand, head over to our Things to Do page for some recommended restaurants.

Question

Dress Code

Answer

Cocktail Attire, Black Tie Optional. This is an opportunity to wear your fanciest or funkiest outfits! 1920's era costuming is welcome (a nod to the theater's history). You decide! We just encourage you to be comfortable enough in your best to boogie on the dance floor all night long.

Question

Can we bring our children?

Answer

We strongly encourage the little ones to remain at home, however we do not wish for that to be a barrier to your attendance. Please indicate your decision in the RSVP. Heads up: This is a historic, multi-level building with many steps, balconies, and stages that can be hazardous for unattended, playful kiddos. Please prepare accordingly.
