Vince was witty and charming and set up a date for the following week. He did try to change it last minute from a Saturday afternoon to a Friday during normal work hours which confused me greatly before I learned he was a morning news reporter. After a brief date that I thought went very well (great drinks and banter), he left after an hour making me think he was not interested. Little did I know, his hair cut appointment is THAT important to him. The following week he saw that Southwest had a sale and asked if I wanted to go to Mexico in 2 months. His logic: If we kept dating, great. If we didn’t, the flights were refundable. This would be my life for the next 2 years. And now it will be so for the rest of my life.
I swiped right.
We had planned a trip to Greece in August around Millen’s birthday, visiting the islands of Crete, Santorini and Mykonos. I knew that I was going to propose and decided to ball out on the trip with the best hotels and views. The most romantic of the islands is Santorini, and I planned an evening with a photoshoot around Oia and a surprise rooftop dinner at sunset. She had no clue! As I got down on one knee and professed my love to my best friend, she began to laugh. This is how it will be for the rest of my life.
I knew it was happening the entire time.
