Mike and Nora's story did not begin with an idyllic meet-cute. Rather, they met through a mutual friend at an RPI frat party. At the time, Nora was uninterested in a serious relationship (and maintained that position for over a year), while Mike tenaciously pursued. Finally giving in to Mike's charm and persistence, they dated for a few months. However, after graduating from RPI in May of 2014, Mike moved to Texas with friends on a whim. While Mike and Nora kept in touch daily, they realized that long distance would be near impossible. & after less than a month of deliberation, Nora decided to take the giant leap of faith and move down to TX to be with a man she realized could be the love of her life. They moved in together in May of 2015 and have been literally inseparable since!

Mike proposed to Nora on 10/07/2017 in Hilton Head, SC on a beautiful pier looking over the water. Nora was told they were taking a boat ride to attend a family friend's anniversary party just down the waterway. Nora was completely oblivious to what was actually about to happen (and admittedly was grumpy due to being in a velvet dress and heels on an abnormally hot day, standing in an open boat). When they approached the pier, Nora walked ahead of Mike to get to the top and when she turned around, Mike was standing in front of her while their song played from the boat's speakers. Still not putting 2 and 2 together, Nora proclaimed "oh my gosh, it's our song!!". At that point, she realized that Mike was crying (already), and tried his best to say the sweetest sentiments between his sobs. Mike got down on one knee and asked Nora to spend the rest of her life with him. Nora of course said YES! They were surrounded by close friends and family, including Nora's sister Julia as well as her best friend Makenzie. Mike had flown them down from New York for the special moment :)
