How close are we? Amy once shared my sleeping bag with me in Lesotho to keep warm. ( I was also in it at the time) We're that close. We've been partners in crime in every season! From high school besties talking our way through maths ( it reflected in some of our results...) to then end up in the same university class doing the same degree ( totally unplanned), I've had the privilege of having her hand to hold through some of my best and worst times! She's sunshine in human form, a fellow carrot-cake lover, and a master of Excel spreadsheets.

The meaning of the word ‘mentor’ in the dictionary would be a lot more accurate with a photo of this man next to it. Rich has journeyed with me for over 10 years and what was once a purely mentorship role, has turned into a life-long friendship. Rich is the type of guy that will always be in your corner, tell lame dad-jokes (at least he has an excuse now) and challenge you to be a better version of yourself. Having this guy as part of my special day makes me so pumped!

From pre-school bestie to bridesmaid! Fra is my longest and dearest friend. She's loyal, empathetic, and has loved me through all seasons of life (including my Twilight phase and the time I proudly owned a pair of bubblegum pink crocs.) She makes a delicious g&t, loves a good book and as of December 2021, is a whole qualified doctor.

Mthoko has to be one of the most fun people to hang with. From his days at youth ministry, asking people if they ‘Feelin’ the vibe’ to leading a whole production team at Trulife, Mthoko is a man of many talents. He has had my back for as long as I can remember and he never complains when I send him 8 minute voice notes- that right there is a real friend. I look forward to standing next to him at the altar, knowing that he will most likely crack a joke right before Cayls walks down the Aisle.

Lauren Cullen, my treasured church mentor turned sister-friend. This lady is grace and truth all wrapped up in one. She is consistent and loyal and shares my appreciation for 9 pm bedtimes , homemade popcorn and folky car tunes. She is warm and generous and the best listening ear. She also sings like an absolute angel. I couldn't imagine my life without her! She also made the cutest little human who I ADORE. ( Shout out to flower girl Kate!) Love you La and so excited and honoured to have you by my side on 14 May!

This guy right here might just be our future president. He is a walking example of integrity, excellence and pure joy. Being one of the first people I told about my plan to propose to Cayls, It was a no-brainer choosing him as one of my groomsmen. We have shared many laughs (mostly at him) and I am beyond pumped to have him stand beside me on my wedding day. Did I mention that he’s the slowest eater you’ve ever met?

Robs Blackbeard is the most loyal, generous, and kind person I know. She LOVES hiking, pizza and online shopping. She also appreciates a decent early night, like me, making her the best sleepover buddy. She is the queen of celebrating others, always going to crazy lengths to make people feel loved and spoilt. She should get a trophy for all the sporty events she's invited me to that I have declined ( Midmar mile, hiking, marathons, early-morning runs etc) and yet she still perseveres... I love this girl to death and could not imagine my wedding day without her!

The man himself. From a Richards Bay boy who used to listen to punk rock music, to ‘ cool influencer guy who makes really great designs on Adobe Illustrator’, how far you have come! He brings such positivity to any room he enters and our friendship has grown so strong over the years. Having him in my corner really was a no brainer. I've also realised I won’t have to post anything from the wedding day because he will no doubt be spamming the socials.

Kirstie Arderne, the most fun, and genuine friend! She makes me feel brave and confident and often gets me out of my comfort zone ( mostly kicking and screaming...). She's a super talented make-up artist, prayer-warrior and admin queen. I love our looong catch-ups on her couch (I owe her so many cups of tea) and am so grateful for the love she has poured into my life over the years. It is such an honour having her by my side.

There are not many people that find most of my jokes funny, but he’s one of them! He recently made the move to the city of CPT (watch out ladies) and he's bound to thrive. He’s super reliable and doesn’t mind going out of his way, regardless of the inconvenience. He is a go-getter and jumps at opportunity with both hands. He’s probably getting coconut barreled in the ocean at the very moment you’re reading this.

Nova is full of fun, sass and giggles. She may be five, but she's the brightest and most insightful human around! Her honesty has us in stitches and we love that she's part of our lives! Madi Joy lives up to her name! She is kind, fun, and full of spunk! Migs and Madi have a never-ending game of tag in progress at all times ( and I doubt our wedding will be an exception!). We love both these girls SO much and love that they said "Yes" so such an important role.

She's the cutest poppet you'll ever meet and our favourite 2 year old. Her dance moves are iconic and she lights up every room she steps into. Kate loves her blueberries ( fondly referred to by her as "beebees") and hide & seek keeps her busy for a solid while ( even if she hides in the same place everytime ) Katie girl - we're so grateful to call you our flowergirl! We love you so much.
