Recommend: Capitol Grounds, the flagship café for 802 Coffee Bear Pond Books (go visit the tortoise in the kids area upstairs) Quirky Pet (their "famous" Bergamasco shepherds might be there) Three Penny Taproom (great selection of local craft beer on tap) Buch Spieler Records Hang out on the State House lawn
There's a lot of them. Highly recommend the following: The Alchemist in Stowe Bent Hill in Braintree Hill Farmstead in Greensboro Lawsons Finest in Waitsfield Burlington Beer Company in Burlington Foam in Burlington Red Barn in Danville
In general, there are beautiful dirt roads all over Vermont and this is the best time of year to just drive around and "leaf peep"! Look at a map and come up with your own loop or ask one of us for a recommended route. Here's a few to start: Montpelier to Lawson's Brewery and long scenic way back: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fKhnQ8h2FdiwemHD9 Big loop from Montpelier on back roads passing Wrightsville Reservoir, Curtis Pond, 2 cute town general stores and Bragg Farm: https://maps.app.goo.gl/o39gyNB13F7t48qc6
Classic fall activity of apple picking and eating cider donuts.
Nice hike for all levels, even kids. 2.2 miles to the top and has a fire tower you can climb for great views of the Green Mountains. Spruce Mountain will be visible from the venue.
Tons of trails to explore and a beautiful place to drive around to see the fall leaves. There are 7 state parks within this state forest. Address takes you to their new nature center. Owls Head is a fun easy hike with great views.
One of our favorite hikes! A little under 5 miles round trip with some rock scrambling involved towards the top. Great views of Mount Mansfield.
Great free disc golf course around old granite quarries.
