It was a perfect day on Medina Lake in late May of 2018. I had gone to the lake with my girlfriends to meet up with “the guys” to ride jet skis and celebrate the last few weeks of junior year. Tim showed up with his friends, ready to spend the day racing around on water toys and soaking up the start of summer. Even though we grew up in the same small town just a couple of years apart, we had never officially met — only heard of each other. That all changed when Tim pulled up on a jet ski and asked if anyone wanted to hop on. Being the adrenaline junkie I am, I didn’t hesitate to say yes. We spent that hot spring day laughing, riding across the lake, and talking like we had known each other for years. But what neither of us realized in that moment was that God was quietly orchestrating something far greater than a fun lake day. What felt spontaneous to us was perfectly timed by Him. What began as a simple jet ski ride turned into a summer full of late-night conversations, growing closer, and slowly falling in love. Through every season since, we have seen the Lord’s faithfulness — guiding our steps, strengthening our relationship, and teaching us how to love with patience, grace, and intention. Eight years later, after countless memories, adventures, prayers, and so many laughs, we are more in love than ever. What started on the water has grown into a relationship rooted in friendship, faith, and a deep commitment to build a life centered on Christ.
