He arrived at my doorstep with a smile that lit up the whole street, and as I stepped outside, he greeted me by opening the car door. It was a small gesture, but it spoke volumes about his thoughtfulness. I couldn't help but feel hopeful that this might turn out to be a wonderful date. Despite my hesitations from previous online dating experiences, Mike's unwavering patience and understanding, especially considering my responsibilities as a single mother, intrigued me. After weeks of his persistent yet endearing efforts, I decided to take a leap of faith and agree to our date. As we drove, he kept the destination a secret, adding an element of excitement to the evening. When we arrived at Roller Jam, I couldn't help but panic; the idea of skating filled me with worry. But Mike's reassuring words and genuine concern melted away my worries. With a smile, he promised to be there to catch me if I stumbled.Though my skating skills were questionable at best, I found myself laughing and enjoying every moment with him. Until, of course, I fell and injured my wrist. Despite my attempts to brush it off, Mike's care and concern were evident as he led me to a nearby bench. His offer to accompany me to get a wrist guard warmed my heart, dispelling any fear of him losing interest. As we strolled through the aisles of the pharmacy, laughing about how neither of us has ever had a first date at a pharmacy before, I couldn't help but admire his easy going nature. Our unexpected adventure turned into a shared memory, one that would be cherished for its uniqueness. And just when I thought our evening had come to an end, Mike surprised me with an invitation to a cozy diner. Over plates of comfort food, our conversation flowed effortlessly, punctuated by laughter and genuine connection. It was a night filled with unexpected twists and turns, but through it all, Mike's kindness and warmth never faltered. When he dropped me off at home, I couldn't wait to share the details of our extraordinary date with my closest friends. Despite the mishap with my wrist, all I could think about was how much I wanted to see him again. It wasn't just about the perfect moments; it was about the genuine care and understanding he showed me throughout the evening.
It was a cold winter evening, when I knew it was the day, the day to finally ask the question, "Will you marry me?" She never expected it to come that day, because I was working and she had plans with her family. However, she did not know I was in cahoots with them. Her and her family had plans to see all the Christmas lights and decorations around the town that evening. I had left work early, and headed to the location in which it was planned to take place. The soon to be maid of honor was giving a play-by-play on their location so I would be ready for the proposal. Their final stop was supposed to be at one house where I was staying; however, to our dismay the house shut off all of their lights and decorations. Thankfully, Melissa had suggested to go back to the previous house they were at. With this happening I had made a mad dash for the next house, speeding there to try and keep it secret and so that they would not notice me. Once they settled into admiring the fake snow falling from the decorations; I sprang from my car and ran to the house unnoticed. This was the time that I had been waiting for, she was turned around and I was able to sneak down the driveway under the beautifully lit archways, which were nothing in comparison to her. Now at this time still without being detected told her, "It's beautiful isn't it?" Her response was, "Yeah it is," as I later found out, thinking I was the homeowner talking about the decorations, as she was turning around. Then I quickly replied, "Not as beautiful as you though," as I was getting down on one knee. The glimmering ring was already out stretched towards her as one would if it was all that mattered to them in life. This moment is what I was waiting for and I couldn't believe it. The words were finally able to be said, "Will you marry me?" Shocked she asked, "How did you know we were here?" As she was still trying to fathom what was occurring at the time. Then finally snapping back into reality she said replied with the ever much waited, "Yes."
