From the get go, their relationship was pretty unconventional! Having met in Pittsburgh in 2011, Cody and Grace spent three and a half years supporting each other the best they could through the struggles early adulthood can bring. Eventually though, their lives went in much different directions. They moved states apart and considered each other a part of the past. Miraculously, two years later, in March of 2017, they reconnected. Hoping to restart a friendship, after realizing the true value they brought to each other's lives, Cody planned a trip to visit Grace in her hometown of Richmond, Virginia. During the last day of the weekend, on an impromptu trip to Virginia Beach, Cody new he loved her. Years ago he said, "her laugh is the best sound in the world". Her laugh was still the same, and he knew he wanted to hear it for the rest of his life. Afraid he'd scare her off, he let her take the lead. Little did he know that years ago she said, "his heart feels like home". And so, five short months after reconnecting, they eloped. 08.10.2017
