Ryan and Mckailyn are proof that one swipe can change everything. • September 2024: Two born and raised Clevelanders match on a dating app. Messages about bad puns (his specialty) and good wine (her weakness) fly all week. • First date, early  Oct  2024: Ryan drives to Mckailyn’s University Heights duplex armed with fresh sushi and his goldendoodle, Royce. After dinner on the porch, the three of them wander the tree lined streets, talking until the streetlamps come on. • October 7, 2024: At Cloak & Dagger bar downtown, Ryan introduces her to friends and—over blackberry old fashioneds—asks, “Will you be my girlfriend?” She says yes. • Fall 2024: Weekends become a happy pattern of movie nights, Progressive Field baseball games, and Royce asserting jealousy by wedging himself between them on the couch—though he’s quick to favor “Mom” when treats are involved. • Discovery of Cordelia: After an Indians game, they try Cordelia on East 4th. Great food, better drinks, instant favorite. They love it so much they try recreating the burgers at home. • April 5, 2025: Ryan books a Party room at Cordelia's, sneaks family and friends in, and has a photographer hiding on east 4th. They approach cordilias with McKailyn thinking theyre just there for a friends party, when Ryan gets down on one knee and asks “Will you marry me?” Once inside friends and family were waiting for yet another surprise and to share their special day. Swipe to sushi, sushi to stroll, stroll to girlfriend, girlfriend to Cordelia regulars, Cordelia to engaged—simple steps that added up to forever. Their next chapter starts on the wedding day, with a toast of good wine and, no doubt, a proud goldendoodle somewhere in the photos.
