Matt & Katie matched on Hinge in 2021. Matt sent the first message and… nothing. A week later he tried again, and this time Katie finally responded (and was so happy that she did!). Not long after, they planned their first date at Grotto. What was supposed to be just dinner turned into hours of talking, laughing, and realizing they had a lot more in common than they expected. Over the next few years, Matt and Katie built a life together, creating a home and filling it with as many animals as space (and Matt's patience) allowed. Three years later, in 2025, Matt planned to propose after dinner at the same restaurant where they had their first date. Unfortunately, Katie got sick and they had to cancel the reservation. Matt held onto the ring and waited for the right moment. That moment came after Katie’s birthday dinner. Completely unsuspecting, Katie came home and went to check on their pet rabbit, while Matt waited patiently in the living room with the ring. When she finally came back, he got down on one knee. Katie was completely surprised, and of course said yes. Now they’re looking forward to celebrating the next chapter of their story with family and friends this summer!
