Question

What accommodation is available?

Answer

So that all guests can come and enjoy the weekend with us, rooms at a local hotel for 2 nights (Saturday 9th October and Sunday 10th October) will be provided. If you would like to choose this option, please let us know when you RSVP.

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail Attire Wear cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, jackets and slacks or suit and tie. And comfortable shoes for contra-dancing :)

How do I get from the ceremony to the reception?

Answer

The drive from Trinity Church to the Robinson farm is 25 minutes. We anticipate that most of our guests will have cars to get between the two locations (there is ample parking at both). If you do not plan to have a car, please let Nathan or Mayumi know and we will help you to coordinate carpooling.

What is contra dancing?

Answer

A community dance set to old-time music. No previous dance experience required as all dances are "called" live. Feel free to dance the whole time, watch the whole time or join for a dance or two.

Why were there porcupines on the save the date?

Answer

Porcupines are the arch-nemeses of Ollie Robinson, Mayumi's grandmother. It is an enmity that has endured for decades. They live off the ripest peaches from her New England peach tree. They are slow, bold and untrustworthy creatures.
