We met in Arizona in February 2022, where Matt was working and Courtney grew up. Things were going great... and then, right before our one year mark, Matt decided to move back to Massachusetts to be closer to family. Classic move: fall in love, then move 2,600 miles away. We gave long distance our best shot, and in August 2023 Courtney flew to the East Coast for the first time. She got introduced to Dunkin' on every corner, humidity she wasn't prepared for, and more snow talk than she had ever heard in her life. Six months after Matt, on December 30th 2023, she packed up her life, stuffed her cat in a carrier (who is still holding a grudge), and flew out to New Hampshire for good. Turns out, trading cactus for snow isn't so bad when you've got the right person by your side.
