Ecuador is a beautiful country located in South America (right below Colombia), and if you haven't noticed, Ecuador=Equator in English, as the country sits on the Earth's Equator. Due to this unique geography, Ecuador (a country roughly the size of Colorado) is home to disparate climates, ranging from the tropical Galapagos islands, the warm coastal beaches of the mainland, the humid Amazon and Cloud rainforests, and the mountainous Andes (home to some of the worlds largest volcanoes), including our host city, Quito! Quito is the second highest capital city, sitting at 9,350 feet above sea level...in other words, roughly 8,000 feet above the Empire State Building! Don't let the height scare you, the people of Quito are extremely friendly and proud of their city, ready to welcome you all with open arms...and delicious food. Did we mention Ecuador is known for its fish (e.g., Shrimp) and fruit (e.g., Bananas) exports? Not to mention, number 3 on the world's top flower exporters!
