Are kids allowed?

Answer

Yes, but there are restrictions. We are so happy to have kiddos at the ceremony. Unfortunately, due to headcount restrictions at the reception venue only kiddos from our immediate families will be allowed. If you have an infant and they must travel with you, please let Tim or Rachel know and we can discuss further :)

Are we allowed to drive on to the Naval Yard for the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, but we highly recommend utilizing the shuttle as parking is scattered. Please let Rachel know if you plan to drive on vs. utilize the shuttle. :)

What is needed to get on to the Naval Academy Yard?

Answer

You will need a government issued REAL ID or passport to get on the Yard. You will go through a security checkpoint. We will need to 90 days prior to have your RSVP 90 days prior to the wedding to ensure you are on the shuttle list. The shuttle is subject to searches and your name must be on the list provided to the Naval Academy.

Are there restrictions on what is allowed in the Chapel / Yard?

Answer

Yes, there is no alcohol/drugs/paraphernalia allowed. No weapons. There are no large bags allowed in the Chapel. No water or food allowed in the Chapel. This is a military base please be mindful.

What gate do we enter through to get on the yard?

Answer

Currently, Gate 8 is the only entrance allowing visitors through. Gate 3 is only open for exiting.

How far is the Graduate Hotel from the Reception?

Answer

Acqua Al 2 is 0.3 miles from the Graduate Hotel. It is about an 8 minute walk / 2 minute drive. There will not be shuttles available post reception.

How do we access base/yard and is there anything else we need besides an ID?

Answer

Yes, upon RSVPing you will get a government form emailed to you from Rachel. This is for Navy purposes to provide you access on to base for the wedding. It is a 5512 form (background check). It is required if you plan to attend the wedding. Who Needs Access? All guests 18 and older need valid access credentials. If you have one of these IDs: Military ID (Active Duty, Retired, or Dependent) Common Access Card (CAC) You may enter using that ID. You may also escort up to 10 guests who do not have credentials. If you do NOT have one of those IDs: You must complete the SECNAV 5512 Form that you will receive from Rachel.
