Attending our good friend's Pete and Jamie's wedding in 2011, I apparently caught his eye while singing a song during their ceremony. He was Pete's groomsman, and I a life long friend of Jamie's. A year later, we finally went on a date and actually met in real life for the first time. He took me to the Seattle Aquarium and we got to know each other over fish tanks and sealions. Followed by a lovely dinner and games. It didn't take long to realize how in synch our personalities and senses of humor were!
Finally after waiting patiently for 7 years, and while 8 months pregnant, he popped the question. The poor sap tried to recreate our first date, and take me to the Seattle Aquarium on a random Saturday in April. Well I was a bit stubborn and a lot pregnant, so I said I just wanted to stay in town and not drive all the way to Seattle. So he did the next best thing - took me to this cute little Bellingham aquarium. I proceeded to turn to him and say "oh what does this remind you of?!", as he was getting on one knee to propose! So sweet!
Surrounded by some of our closest friends and family, we tied the knot in our yard with Emily in hand and Lydia in tummy. It was absolutely beautiful and I wish you all could have been there. We didn't want to wait to get married any longer, and with this awful pandemic, we just had to go for it!!! BUT, we invite you to celebrate with us at our reception! Whoo hoo!
