Melanie and Tyler’s story began in 2009 in Bolingbrook, Illinois, in a middle school band room filled with music stands and off-key warmups. He played the trombone, she played the flute, and at eleven years old they were simply two kids sharing a class, with no idea they’d one day share a life. They found their way back to each other in high school, this time through volleyball and mutual friends. What started as familiar faces in the same circle, slowly turned into something more. During their senior year, Tyler asked Melanie to prom in the parking lot of Andy's Frozen Custard, a beloved Bolingbrook staple and the perfect setting for the start of their next chapter. That summer of 2016, they became inseparable. When college took them to different schools, they committed to making it work. Melanie showed up to every volleyball game of Tyler’s that she could, cheering him on from the stands. Tyler gladly returned the support, serving as her most patient “patient” while she practiced her nursing skills on him. Between long drives, late-night calls, study sessions, and meeting each other’s new friends, their relationship grew steadier, deeper, and more certain. After graduation, they stepped into their careers as young adults, eventually leading into a new adventure together in Paris, France. Living abroad gave them the chance to build a life side by side in a city that felt both exciting and timeless. It was there, in the chapel of the Château de Vincennes, that Tyler asked Melanie to marry him; a quiet, meaningful moment in a place they’ll never forget. Now, 10 years after being each other's prom dates, Melanie and Tyler are ready for what comes next. Surrounded by the people they love most, they’re excited to celebrate not just where they’ve been, but everything still ahead as husband and wife.
