Like most dating millennials, Mark and Vita met on a dating app in 2021. Mark had just moved in with a friend and Vita had just moved to the South Loop in the city. Vita was on a trip with her parents in Italy and opened a dating app in hopes of meeting a nice Italian boy, however, the app used Chicago as the matching city by accident which then connected Mark with Vita. While Vita was in Italy for a month, they spoke all day and night getting to know each other. Finally, when Vita came home, they were eager to meet in person. They met over glasses of wine and Neapolitan pizza and already knew so much about each other, however, their date went on for so long, they closed the restaurant down! This was the beginning of their love for Neapolitan pizza as a couple and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
What better way to get engaged than in Italy? Mark and Vita spent some time along the Amalfi Coast and stayed a couple of nights in the town of Minori. They went out to dinner for some seafood and when dinner was finished, Mark asked Vita to go for a walk along the pier. Mark was nervous as he lured Vita to one of the piers only to realize it wasn't the perfect spot so they continued their walk along the board walk. Once they were away from the crowd, Mark asked Vita to join him for a walk along the beach. At first, Vita had no interest in joining Mark on the beach because it would have ruined her new shoes but Mark was persistent in getting her onto the beach and when Vita got the *hint* of what was to come, she gladly joined. Mark gave Vita one last tight squeeze until he dropped to one knee and asked her to marry her in front of the lighted Amalfi Coast mountains and Mediterranean sea! They both cried and after they shared the news with close friends and family, they decided to celebrate with a glass of champagne and a Lemon Delight dessert - the perfect sweet ending to a wonderful evening and beginning of a new chapter.
