We met at Truman State University in 2016 at Tyler's fraternity. Tyler knew very quickly that Maria was "the one." He even told one of his friends, "I am going to marry that girl," the day after we met! Maria was a little bit more hesitant. After all, what are the odds of marrying your first boyfriend?! Within a few months, though, she was confident that she wanted to build a future with Tyler. After four years, two college graduations, and countless memories, we got engaged!

We celebrated Maria's birthday in Las Vegas in October 2020. On the first night, the plan was to watch the water show in front of the Bellagio, and then walk across the street for dinner. With the water jetting into the sky as a backdrop, Tyler knelt down on one knee and asked Maria to marry him. Maria was completely shocked at the timing of the proposal, but gave an enthusiastic, "YES!" Then, another surprise awaited...Tyler had arranged for eight of our closest friends to meet us at this spot, witness the proposal, and spend the weekend in Las Vegas celebrating our engagement!
