For those of you who haven't heard me tell this story a MILLION times...here is how Colin and I met! During the Summer of 2012, I had a party at my Grandparent's house (sorry Grandma!!) in Mystic, CT. Colin happened to be at a hockey camp not too far from Mystic with one of my high school friends, so he came along for the ride...and that is where we met! The end.... JUST KIDDING! We stayed in touch throughout the next few years of college but didn't actually start dating until the winter of our Junior year. Colin played Hockey at Union and I went to Quinnipiac, which are both in the ECAC for college hockey so they are fairly big rivals...which Colin never lets me forget! It was winter break my Junior year and I was home in Newburgh with my parents when I got a text from Colin. The conversation went a little like this... Colin: "Hey you at QPac, come to the game tomorrow we are playing there" Me: "Yeah I am! I will be there!" (LIESSS) The next morning I left my house and drove 1.5 hours back to my apartment at school. I went to the game that night and stuck around to see Colin after. For those of you wondering...Union lost, sorry not sorry Colin! After catching up for a few minutes and before he got on the bus to leave, Colin invited me to a party at Union the next night. Trying to play hard to get I told him "I would think about it." Well I am sure you can all guess where this is going.... The next night I drove 3 hours from Quinnipiac to Union for this party...now that is really THE END! In true Colin fashion I got A TEXT on my way home the next morning that said..."I think I should take you off the market before someone else does." Here we are over 5 years later and what a journey it has been! We have called 7 different states home and made countless friends along the way. The truth is, our relationship wouldn't be what it is without each and every one of you, so thank you so very much for sharing this day with us! xoxo, Margaret
