Things To Do in Poznań

The Wedding Website of Marek Kiczkowiak and Margarita Monge Morera
We've selected a few of our favourite places in Poznań that you should definitely go to while in town.
Old Market Square

Old Market Square

Stary Rynek, Poznań, wielkopolskie 60-101, Poland

Beautifully decorated and colourful medieval 'kamienice' (tenant's houses) surround the renaissance Town Hall

Poznań Cathedral

Poznań Cathedral

17 Ostrów Tumski, Poznań, Wielkopolskie 61-001, Poland
, +48 61 852 96 42

An absolute must. The royal tombs of the first Polish kings can be found here

Zielona Weranda

Zielona Weranda

7 Paderewskiego, Poznań, Wielkopolskie 61-770, Poland
, +48 61 851 32 90

This is one of the hidden gems of Poznań. Fantastic for a light lunch, tea, coffee or one of the traditional home-made Polish cakes.

Fara Poznańska

Fara Poznańska

11 Klasztorna, Poznań, Wielkopolskie 61-779, Poland
, +48 61 852 69 50

Just off the Old Town Square, this gem of baroque architecture is an absolute must-see if you're in Poznań. One of the only buildings in the old town to have escaped the German air raids at the end of WW II.

Restauracja Ratuszova

Restauracja Ratuszova

55 Stary Rynek, Poznań, Wielkopolskie 61-772, Poland
, +48 61 851 05 13

If you want to try Polish cuisine taken to the next level, this is definitely a place to go. A bit on the pricey side (at least for Polish standards), but you won't be disappointed.

Rogalowe Muzeum

Rogalowe Muzeum

23 Klasztorna, Poznań, Wielkopolskie 61-779, Poland
, +48 690 077 800

If you're in Poznań, you must try the local delicacy: Rogal Świętomarciński, a poppyseed-filled croissant-like sweet traditionally made for the city saint, St Martin celebrations.

Pijalnia Wódki i Piwa

Pijalnia Wódki i Piwa

85 Stary Rynek, Poznań, Wielkopolskie 61-001, Poland
, +48 791 859 555

In case you haven't had enough vodka at the wedding (highly unlikely!), you should definitely head to one of the Pijalnias. Stylised as communist era bars, they serve dangerously cheap (1 EUR) beer and vodka, and equally dangerously cheap (2 EUR) and super tasty, albeit slightly on the fat-rich side, Polish tapas.

Rynek Jeżycki

Rynek Jeżycki

Poznań, Wielkopolskie 60-843, Poland

Jeżyce is one of the oldest districts (dzielnica) in Poznań. You can escape the tourist-filled Old Town Square and admire the 19th century houses around the rynek (market square), where the locals go to buy their groceries.

Malta Lake

Malta Lake

Poznań, Wielkopolskie 62, Poland

Less than a 10 minute tram ride from the centre (take no. 16 from Wrocławska to Baraniaka) is the Malta Lake. If you're tired of the city, you can take a stroll around the artificially created lake, where rowing championships are held regularly, and enjoy the nature.

Jezioro Strzeszyńskie

Jezioro Strzeszyńskie

Poznań, Wielkopolskie 62, Poland

If you want to chill in the nature, sunbathe and have a dip in the lake to wash off the wedding hangover, Strzeszyńskie lake is one of the local hot spots. Public bus 195 from Ogrody (10 minutes by tram from the old town) will get you there in less than 20 minutes.

For all the days along the way
