Malachi and I met almost two and a half years ago. I had been working at my first job (the Creation Museum) for probably six months when Malachi started his first job there as well. Towards the start of the next year (2018) I started to think he was super cute (lol). But we never talked more than just normal. I never thought he would be interested in me... especially since I am older than him. Fast forward to that summer, Malachi and I started to work together more in the same area. Our supervisors would place Malachi and I in the downstairs bookstore (Legacy Hall, which is where we are having our wedding!) basically every day. We got to know each other a lot better. Summer passed and we were still just work friends... in October of 2018 our work friend, Kori, told me that Malachi asked if I had a boyfriend because he was interested in me. I just about flipped! I didn’t know he liked me in that way. So Malachi and I started to Facebook message each other every day. In November he asked me out on a date! It was a Sunday on November 11th. He met me and my family for Sunday night church and then him and I went to Steak N’ Shake and (of all places) Walmart for our first date. We had a great time! He drove me home, we said goodnight, and he was gone.... probably 20 mins later I get a call. It was Malachi! He was calling to ask me to be his girlfriend. He was too nervous to ask face to face. (Awww) of course I said yes! Fast forward to the next year, we were coming close to our 1 year anniversary and we knew we wanted more than just a relationship. To celebrate our 1 year we went to the Carew Tower (one of our more “official” nice first dates). It was just us there which was amazing. We kept walking around looking out and over the city. We came to a section where someone engraved A+M and he turned to me, got on one knee, and asked me to be his wife! We are so excited to start our life together in May 2020!
